One of my favorite authors of the last 10 years, and funny enough a producer on this project (he found me on myspace) is the critically-acclaimed Chris Ayres. His book, War Reporting for Cowards, is a must read and I am keenly awaiting his softmore novel, Death by Leisure.
He also writes a colum for the times online entitles LA Notebook.

This weekend starts the blitz of Hollywood mega movies we can expect this summer. The big Buzz is for IRON MAN, which I will be at the first screening of. I’m excited to see what Jon Faverau has done and if the film can stand up to it’s awesome Trailer.
But a little flick you should also watch out for that is opening on Friday, May 9th is Tarsem Singh’s THE FALL
Presented by David Fincher and Spike Jonze, this is the soft more film for the visionary director of THE CELL.
I couldn’t begin to tell you what it’s really about, but click here for the stunning trailer.
If you check it out, I’d love to hear what you think of it.
Cheers

So i’m always interested in what people think of my work. Be it good or bad I hope to illicit some sort of reaction. Well I got one today that I never expected and quite frankly… find HILARIOUS!!!
Seems someone found my short film, the morning after, on youtube and have fallen for its star.
No, not the stunning Sarah Smyth, but the lovable (and apparently cuddly) Mike Patterson. They’ve even added an animated GIFF that is quite cute (be warned though, it might not appeal to all). If you’re interested in what they think of Mike, click here.

“I just got back from a wedding where the groom had a Death Star groom’s Cake.”
Ok, so I find this pretty cool. Could be one of the reasons I’m single.
What do you think?

…but here’s a recent article from the Hollywood Reporter with hilarious director Barry Sonnenfeld talking about the internet. Knowing that I’m using social networking sites to further my message, I’d like to hear what you think about this so drop me an email here or post in our comments section.
But I believe in love. And love is what makes for the best change.
I’ve been asked why I’m supporting the “Myth” of global warming, etc. The fact is I’m not really interested in climate change. The environment is always changing and is going to be fine…one day. It is us humans, that are in trouble. We are pushing the planet to change quicker than any species in the history of the planet. And history tells us that there has always been a tipping point. A mass extinction if you will.
We can either keep driving it towards that drastic change, in which we probably won’t survive, or we can come to terms with the fact that we are not the kings of the environment, but rather a unstable part of it.
We, as people who care about our species and it’s continuing existance, will win in their efforts for change only by raising levels of awarness. Even today peopl are doing better things for the environment with all the new information that is available .
You may ask yourself, “What can I do?”
Well that’s really the first step, recognizing that you can do something. Now you must look into your heart and soul to understand where your passions and gifts lie. Now do some research and educate yourself in areas that interest you. Now find people that you feel comfortable with and get involved in their shared initiatives.
Here are some good places to start: 1% for the planet David Suzuki Foundation 11th Hour Sea Shepherd Surfrider Foundation What are Carbon Credits?
or just Google an area you’re interested in like:

The only thing that prevents us from stopping the extinction of our species is if we CHOOSE to do nothing.
Now I’m not a man of religion but that of faith. I do not believe in creation in the sense it happened only a few thousand years ago. Now taking this in to mind, think of how many species have come before us and are now gone (where do you think that oil came from?). Now on that scale, humans are a mere spec. We’ve barely been around for the first beat of a concert. So it’s up to us to decide how long we want to keep dancing.
Much Love and Respect.

If you havent’ seen the most recent episode of South Park, check the link below. Coming in on the heels of the recent Writer’s strike, this episode shows what would happen if Canada went on strike.
See if you can find the similarities between this funny little tale and the success the WGA had in their efforts to gain more revenue from the internet.
As always, I’m curious as to what your take is so send me some thoughts on the matter.
