My favorite time of year.
With tonight being the start of all those costume parties, I want you all to take pictures of your favorites and send them in. I’ll post them up next week!

Are you going to check out a film this weekend? Well there is the new SAW film that our lovely Karen Cliche is in. I haven’t got a chance to see it but it promises all the scares of the original.

One firm recommendation I can make is Paranormal Activity. I got 3 SOLID scares from this film. The audience really gets into it as well, with lots of screams!! It’s already taken over $60 million at the box office(not bad for a film with a supposed budget of so be confident it’s worth seeing.

here’s the trailer.

And here’s something to look forward to in 2010.

And finally, here is a sneak peak of the creator of the Zombie genre himself. George A. Romero’s “Survival of the Dead”.

Have a ghastly all hallows eve!

Cheers
Casey

Trailer Fridays: Countdown to Halloween Week 4

I’m going on a Zombie Walk this weekend here in Toronto. It might prove to be the largest on record!! Come join the fun. Info here.

On to the trailers…

Here’s the one that started it all (not really, Roger Corman was freaking people out way before this, but still, scared the CRAP out of me as a kid).

HALLOWEEN TRAILER (circa.1978)

Like Halloween, this next one spawned numerous shitty sequels. But the original is pretty wicked.

And before he made waves with films like “The Frightners” and the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Academy Award Winning Director, Peter Jackson, made this little gem. One of my favorites. If you go looking for it, be sure to find the director’s cut, otherwise you’ll miss what is touted as the goriest film of all time.

Trailer Fridays: Countdown to Halloween. Week 2

I caught the midnight screening of Paranormal Activity last night. Except for a slow start, this movie has some great scares.

On to this weeks’ selections.

This film has been blowing peoples minds since it premiered at Cannes earlier this year. I’m not a big fan of Lars Von Trier, but I will give this one a watch, if only to experience what some are calling one of the most disturbing films ever made.

Before hitting the theatre and dropping your hard earned cash, here’s a review from the Toronto International Film Festival, along with the trailer.

REVIEW

The Fourth Kind looks to be a very promising freak out.

This is based on Cormac McCarthy’s “The Road” (which is a book that I can remember in haunting, vivid detail) and stars Viggo Mortensen as a father trying to protect his child in a post apocoplytic world. This is the film I’m most excited for next week.

Have a great weekend.

Trailer Fridays: Count down to Halloween. Week 1

It’s my favorite holiday and in honor, this month’s trailer’s will be those of the frightening sort.

To start, here’s John Carpenter’s AWESOME remake of The Thing. Even though this is over 25 years old, it is still scary as hell. The recent “Whiteout” has tried to copy it but I have a feeling it falls short.

And I love a good re-make… when it doesn’t suck balls. Here is a new version of George A. Romero’s classic, THE CRAZIES. It could very well be on par with Zac Snyder’s amazing re-make of Dawn of the Dead.

This next one might prove to be the most frightening film in decades.
Paranormal Activity

And if you haven’t already done so, come help us make our first film by becoming a producer here. http;//www.mymilliondollarmovie.com/buy

Next week I’ll have announcements about our Halloween party.
Have a great weekend!
